    auto meter reporting

I would like to set up our Ricoh machines in the field to automatically report meters to us by email. I am sure this has been discussed somewhere here, but I cant find it. If someone could point me in the correct direction that would be great.
    Thanks Victor

Thats easily enough done .Just web browse the machine and set up the e-mail configuration for the site you are at and then under e-mail auto notification tab select what functions you would like automatically mailed to you, ie meter readings, error messages etc. Hope this helps

So I'm working on a MPc3500. I logged in, and the smtp/email is setup, but under auto email notification I dont see meter readings. Toner, service calls, and lots of problems that can trigger an email, but nothing about sending us meters.

Aawww man what a scam. With all the technology they have in these machines they could easily do that, if they wanted too. Thanks for responding.

What you will need to set up is Web Smart Device Monitor.

It's a free download from Ricoh (in the US, anyway).

You can run it on a workstation - no server required.

                The current version is 2.10.

Make sure that you don't download @Remote Enterprise Pro, which is WSDM on steroids, essentially, and requires a dedicated server. (It won't install on a workstation like WSDM - I tried.)

Not hard at all to set up; the documentation is all there.

                    Re: auto meter reporting

That's correct... I just hate to see my office manager spending hours and hours calling to get meter readings from customers to do the billings. We used to be a Gestetner dealer, but then they made all the Gestner dealers into lanier dealers. That made for 3 lanier, 2 ricoh, and 1 savin dealer. This town is not that big, so we decided not to be a "authorized" dealer. We are struggling with that on a few things like this, but well worth it in the long run. Long story short, it would just be sooo much easier for my office manger if she didn't have to collect meters all day once a week. Do other machines like canon or sharp have this ability?

oh btw... do you remember what I have to do to get rid of that stupid "15-02 check for network troubles" that keeps coming up on a fax option after turning off forwarding. I used to know it, but now I can't find that stupid thing. There is like something in user tools under system settings.

Sorry, I kinda misread the original post. I was thinking that this was for just one customer.

You would have to get each customer to agree to (and maintain) a copy of WSDM locally. While that would be great for large customers. it wouldn't be practical for the smaller ones.

The new Kyocera range do it, we get all the meters that are e-mails on one day, we have set up a dedicated e-mail address for this, works well
