[Misc] MPc300 Bypass Tray Lock Symbol

    Hi,

We're having trouble getting rid of the "lock" symbol on an MPc300 bypass tray on the screen. From what I can gather from the engineer who attended site, it's the same symbol as is displayed on the main paper trays when "Auto Tray Select" is turned off, however the bypass has no settings to alter in this regard.

Apparently it is refusing to print from the bypass tray, despite it having no special paper types programmed, but it copies from there with no problems.

    Thanks in advance,

    Chris

The lock symbol identifies feed stations that have had Auto Tray Select disabled.
This is always the case for the bypass. Select 'Bypass Tray' form the input tray drop down menu in the driver to print from this feed station. Providing the paper size and type match between the driver and settings in User Tools the job should print.
If 'Auto Continue' is set to immediate and there is a mismatch the job will be cancelled (Code 91 will be listed in the error log.)
If 'Auto Continue' is set to any other value (Off, 1 miunte, etc) the printer function key LED will illuminate red and a message will be displayed in the printer screen indicating the issue to be rectified and giving the user an opportunity to either cancel the job, correct the error or form feed from another station.

Thanks for getting back to me, this is (without having seen it myself) pretty much as I expected.

We're going to look at the driver settings tomorrow in case they have anything odd set in them.
