    mpc3000 sc367 and others

    Hi there!

I have a customer with a MPC3000 that has about 1000k copies. It works great untill 3 months ago when the issues came thick and fast.
I will describe here the main problems i've encountered during this time. In October the customer call and told me that he change the empty yellow tonner with new one and adding toner message appear on the screen and the copier runs without stop and the start button remain red. He turned off the machine, turned on again but with the same message and running uninterruptedly. The customer is 70km away from my office so as when i got there next day, customer told me that 2 bottle of toner were emptied with no result. The bloody message was there. I found the toner in the waste toner tank (together with the money on them).
Want to mention the toner is only Genuine Ricoh. So, i've changed the entire PCU ( drum unit and dev unit) with another one, that works well on other machine and managed to get rid of the message. The copier works great for about one week, after that, costumer called and told me that yellow was very weak on copies. I assumed the toner pump is broken and i've changed with new one. The same result. After two weeks or so told me that a short circuit damaged the copier. The copier share the same plug socket with one colour Xerox that was brought there almost in the same period when the problems start appears. (voodoo...) Funny isn't it? The xerox was ok , only Ricoh was damaged. I've changed power source board, and yellow dev unit with new one, hoping to solve the issue related to light image on yellow. Works for 2 weeks or so after that, another happy call. The yellow is fainted and also black colour appear only on 2/3 of the copy (rear side). The front side was almost white but only where black shoud be there. Magenta and cyan were ok.
I've got there.... Black toner on copies was as he said in 90% of cases and in 10% was quite well. After 3 or 4 hours of cleaning ID sensor, toner pumps and other many cleaning jobs and try-out, the only thing i managed to get was SC 367 due to Vt error on yellow. Could make copy and print only black but with fault image. On colour mode after 3 or 4 copies have got SC367 .I've checked yellow TD output and the value was 0.01. As i mentioned before, the yellow dev unit was new one. I've tried with other one that i have there as a spare. Same result.Great. Did forced yellow toner supply , the colour was very good on copy but error code still there. I give up , and next day i returned with an MPC2500 from my office in very good conditions (only 200k) but without power supply board (was supplied to other customer few months ago). I took out PSB from MPC3000, put it on MPC 2500 ,also the PCU yellow from one to another and everithing seems to be OK. TD yellow sensor output 1,66 V. I tried the other PCU yellow(with new dev unit on it). Good result also 1,53V. Many hugs and congratiulations with customer...and so on. But short happy times. After 3 or 4 days he called me. I started to tremble and the worst nightmare strike me. SC367 occured again. Got there, checked TD output , was 0,20V and having no idea of how the hell did that come again. The final solution was to enter in sp 3-020-004 and set lower threshold from 0,5 to 0. The problem was solved for the moment but it wasn't the right solution and i have a strange feeling that i will get a call in short time.

did someone encounter some of this issues in the field. what could that be. the same problem on different copiers with different pcu-s . very strange.
Working...
