[Misc] Restrict color usage on Document Server

Is it possible, on a color MFP, to restrict document server usage to black-only?

Re: Restrict color usage on Document Server

Have a look at SP5-420-002, it shows bit switches for allowing access to various combinations of colour, single colour, auto colour etc. I don't know how this affects the document server, I suspect one would enable user codes or other authentication scheme for the document server and only limit colour use perhaps. I suspect one could still scan in colour but only reprint in B&W, not sure.

I'm going to check that SP. As for authentication, nope. It can either allow you to use Document Server or not, but nothing about color/black Document Server usage.

Re: Restrict color usage on Document Server

Installed an MPC300 and managed to do just that with color restricted with user accounts - added a document to the Document Server and managed to print it in color when I shouldn't be able to. That's when I started this thread.
