MP5000 black goes to 60% feint over time and stays like it.

    Hiya all

I have an MP5000 that the black goes to 60% feint over time and stays like it. I go in and do a force toner but only for 3 seconds or else it goes to black and the machine is fine for 2000 copies odd but then gradually goes back to being feint and copies are not black and sharp. Changed drum and dev. Cleaned sensors and renewed charge roller.

    Any ideas crew?

A few things come to mind, it's probably the first one.

    1. Check the dev roller for black filming (should have a nice shiny bare metal look to it).
    2. Check the side of the drum entrance seal has not pushed inwards.
    3. Check the four small mylar's inside the toner hopper have not come off.

Hiya. I have cleaned and checked the dev roller as I know it can cause feint copies if the dev/toner can't sit in it.

I will check the drum seals and look into the toner hopper as I have never stripped one of these apart so must get my manual out for that one to see what could be missing or bent.

Thanks for your help....I will let you know.
