    MPC2800, Fiery and Gigabit ethernet

Can anyone tell me whether the Gigabit ethernet is mandatory to use the Fiery on the MPC3300? We've got a new customer that has a botched Gigabit card. I'd like to know if I can configure his Fiery to work with the 100Mbps card (albeit more slowly) or if I should order the replacement Gigabit card.

    Thanks!

If you are talking about a buggered Gigabit card in the Fiery, then you are screwed.

If you are talking about your customers PC or switch that the Fiery connects to, then Gigabit is the maximum network speed, not the minimum so you should be ok.
Please don't ask me for firmware or service manuals as refusal often offends.

I'm talking about the MFP card (the one the Fiery connects to). Thanks!

Incidentally, anyone knows where can I download the System CDs/DVDs for this Fiery?

            It's an either/or situation.
When installing the E3100 controller you disable the GW print controller and NIB in SP modes 5193-001 and 5895-001. On later models it is possible to leave the NIB enabled (For GW scanning only.)

The part number for the Gigabit Ethernet card that mounts onto the GW controller was G178 6033, although this has been superseded in the PCIL for January 2011 to G178 6036.

The system software CDs are also available as a service part (D480 7050).
