Spoken to level 2 support at Ricoh and they are adamant that it is the HDD's causing the fault and that they both need to be replaced so i am desperately hunting for the correct drives.

I tried a couple of SATA HDD's I had but I couldn't get them to work (HDD failure). I was going to order a couple from Ricoh.

I hope they're right that it's the HDD's causing this!

In the past when I have HDD errors on these, I just swap the SATA cables between the drives and it ready to go. Done it a few times and have never had to change the drives. All Doc Server is gone of course.

I actually did just try this yesterday - but I'm glad to know someone else did the same and it worked. (Doc Server thankfully didn't matter with this client.)

Was a solution found for this fault?

I have exactly the same problem and I also have it on 2 machines at the same customer. they sit back to back.

          I have:
          • Replaced Laser.
          • replaced memory DIMMS.
          • Formatted HDD on the advice of Ricoh Tech.
          • Replaced HDD.
          • Replaced whole of controller box with a working machine.

I have no error codes on the SMC when this occurs.
I like the suggestions of noise interference but am very interested to see if anyone ressolved this.
My prints are exactly as the example in the original post shows with the margins perefctly respected and evenly spaced white lines.
I am at my wits end.

          Cheers.
