Scan to FTP I suppose, but I've never set it up on Mac. Otherwise, scan to email is the only other option I know

OS X as of Lion, 10.7, no longer includes SMB support and therefore scan to folder will not work. You could try FTP as and alternative, as Sandmanmac already mentioned.

I guess you could always get a real computer. Seriously though, 10.7 has so far been a highly unimpressive OS. I guess the Apple engineers have finally gotten so full of themselves that they've removed so many basic features.

Thanks, I'll tell my customer to get a real computer. But in the meantime he wants me to take the copier back and I am trying to remedy the situation.

So what does he expect to replace it with since all MFP's will have this issue? Besides Scan to Email and FTP, you could suggest Scan to File and set up a bookmark in his browser to connect directly to the WIM. He/she can then download the file directly to the PC in PDF or TIFF. I've done it on several occasions and set the Scan to File button to be highlighted as the default when the Scanner function is selected. I also show how to add a password to the document when scanning since anyone can view/download/print it using the WIM. It's a little more clunky than SMB scanning but it's a workaround. You can also set the files to be auto deleted after a set number of days so the HDD doesn't get filled up.
