    [Misc] Ricoh 240w ghosting image

Our 240W has been ghosting images and printing a black boxe abouth 1 inch wide on most prints. We replace all the charge and transfer corona wires and cleaning blade. The drum is about 6 months old. I am thinking it might be the drum but wanted to see if someone knew for sure.

You should be able to do an emergency shutdown with the print still in the machine and find the area of the problem. If I understand your description correctly it sounds like the problem you are having is either a cleaning problem or it could also be a fuser problem with the hot roller. email me direct if you do not get any other help jrd45@earthlink.net

The drum should last much longer than that. From what you descride== the box is painted on the drum for ID check and toner balance. So the poor quality and the patch means that the drum is not being cleaned properly. The cleaning blade release lever should be to the right as you look at it from the front of the machine. If the DCB is in the corrent position, then remove developer and cleaning station and clean thoroughly paying attention to the condition of the DCB, erase lamps etc.
