I really haven't seen serious issues with most of these boxes until around 750,000 clicks. Overall, the 22/27 series boxes were a good strong line. The main reason most customers have for replacing them isn't so much reliability as it is being able to take advantage of newer features like SMB scanning and the like.
The best copier Ricoh ever put out.
Shame to see them traded in, but as the Big Boss says "We're here to sell new ones, not keep the old ones alive for ever"
At least 50% of IT is a solution looking for a problem.
AGREED! The 1022/27 and 2022/27 series were some of Ricoh's strongest machines - good workgroup machines that gave little trouble!
The MP2510 was the beginning of the end, once they started adding those levers to the fusing units - that customers have become pro at breaking!!
Frame strength has also gone downhill from there! I have also come across pcu issues with the new "rebuildable" pcu that is used in the 3310 and up, and swopping it with a 1027 new pcu has mixed results.
Our stats show an expected life of 5 years or 1.2 mill copies (20k x 12 months x 5 years), but I have seen some of these pass that mark in a shorter time and soldier on (because it was properly maintained!)
