have a problem when coping off the glass or thru the feeder it has a blue back round, only on color copies black and white are fine, internal prints in color are also fine, sounds like a bad ccd , anyone seen this before? and help appreciated

Your gray balance is out of whack. Attached is the tech bulletin to correct it...

If you still battle do the following:

Enter service mode and locate "ACC Factory setting (SP5610) and select option 4 (Recall)
Then exit SP mode and do normal ACC (Up mode > maintenance) with clean optics and glass, and your colour balance will return to normal.

Doing this will only reset the copy acc - you will see the printing acc dates are still there when you go into UP mode and select "Maintenance" and then "Auto colour calibration".

We started doing this as far back as the Aficio 1224c machines and it always fixed grey background issues.

Thanks guys was the gray scale adjustment....it was out of whack !!!
