    Ricoh MPC2050

Customer with a fax unit in this machine, when faxing to a foreign land it gives problems.
There is communication but no fax is send and gives no error at all !!
    Proberly something with the "handshaking".
    Did do the factory set.
Is there an adjustment to for example send on a lower speed or any adjustment

    Thanks in advance

You can try disable V8/V34 protocol - this is known to make issues sometimes. The machine will send with max. 14400 as a side effect of this setting. If needed you can also lower the speed more.

This is strange because the machine must print an error communication report if the transmission fails. The decision of whether the transmission was successfull or not is depending by the final "ok" signal that is given by the fax target after transmission., so basicly it's:

    - handshake
    - transmission
    - tx fax says I'm done and ask if everything arrived with no error
    - rx fax says yes or no

I've seen some TX-reports with OK on it and zero pages sent. You can try to lower the starting speed of the machine to 14k4.

      Go to G3-Switch 05 and set the following : Bit3=0 Bit2=1 Bit1=1 Bit0=0.

Aren't these coming out if the transmission got forced aborted/cancelled by the customer via key input (stop) - I've seen this but might have been a different brand.

I saw it a few times, not often. The machines make their handshake and after that they succesfully close the connection without sending the actual data.
