Locked prints Aficio 7000 - default password?

Does anyone know if there is one? and if so, what it is?

I quite often have people forgetting to put a password in and they can't collect it when they come to print.

I can change it on the web image monitor of course, but it isn't particularly fast or convenient.

    Thanks

Users need to assign a password when using locked print. Could the try a hold print? No password when using hold but the job still waits for the user to come and release it.

      Yes users 'usually' do.

But the hold function sounds very useful as there is no need to passwords in most cases, it's just to stop wasted printing.

How does it work? Does it work with valid access codes because that's quite important.

From each users workstation, have them open the Printing Preferences on the driver loaded for that device. Look for a box called 'Job Type' and it will show 'Normal Print' in the window. Select the drop down arrow on the right side of the box and among the choices will be 'Hold Print'. Select that and then select the 'Details' button below the 'Job Type' box. The user can then add their name to 'User ID' and then select 'Apply' at the bottom of the page and then select 'OK'. That will now be the default printing preferences going forward, so every job printed will automatically be stored in the hold queue on the mfp. The user walks up, selects the hard Printer button and then the 'Stored Print Jobs" (or something close) button on the touchscreen near the bottom. From there they can locate their print job.
You will probably want to change the display of jobs listed from "Complete List" to "By User ID". That way, when the user displays the print jobs, theirs won't be mixed in with everyone else's. Instead it will display everyone's User ID separately and when they select their name, only their print jobs will post. This can be changed in Printer User Tools on the MFP.
You will also probably want to set the stored print jobs to auto delete after 'X' number of days. This is also found in User Tools.

It will work with Access (user) Codes as long as you have the Print function enabled to require codes. Then apply that users code to the Access Code box in the Printing Preferences of the driver. That would be more secure for the individual user since only their jobs will display when they log in, without access codes enabled they are visible to all and anyone can print them.

As far as someone forgetting their password, I thought that the only solution was to delete the job in Admin mode through the WIM. I'm not aware that it can be changed without knowing the original password.
