    MPC4000 Vlan scanning

we have a customer who upgraded their LAN to VLAN. There was no problem with printing ang scanning to their previous LAn but when they set the machine into their VLAN, scan to folder and twain scanning doesn't work. Is there a firmware upgrade that we can do to solve the problem? Thank you for all your support.

TWAIN will not work in a VLAN environment. Scan to folder will work, but the VLAN rules have to be configured to allow the SMB communication to go outside of the VLAN. Unless you configured the switch to create the VLAN, just let the IT guys know what ports need to be able to reach outside of the VLAN and leave it to them to fix.

All it is, is just a mis-configuration of the VLAN.

Setting up VLANs can be tricky at the best of times, especially if the VLANs are to be able to talk across one another without back through something like a server which does the translations itself.

As above, speak to your customers IT people and let them know what you need to be able to do from the machine and they should be able to sort something out.
Please don't ask me for firmware or service manuals as refusal often offends.
