Can anybody help me out with a problem I am having with a Ricoh Pro C550ex that is displaying the message that all of the toner cardtridges are not properly set. I have tried several other toners thinking that the toners might be the problem but even with new ones this message still comes up. I know the toners all work fine because I have tried out all the sets in 2 other Pro C550's and they read the toners just fine, but for some reason this particular C550 just won't read any of the toners that i put in the machine. Does anybody have any suggestions as to how to correct this problem?

Another issue that may be going on is that the reservoir for your ink is so bare/dry that it cannot flow with the new ink cartridge thus requiring a manual override pump of that cartridge. A manual pump gets a bit complicated in procedure but it's nothing your Ricoh rep can't walk you through on how to solve. -

Cartridge not set properly is different from the error you get when trying to reuse a read cartridge (false 'replace toner' message and 'non oem toner'). The only 2 times I have seen this is when one customer had a new c6501 and tried to put in one from their old machine (mpc6000). The second one was in our demo room this week and a salesperson tried to put in one for a c6501 into c6000. The bags look exactly the same upon first look, but the projections at the nozzle end are different and won't drop fully in. Your problem is you tried it in other models of the same type and they worked, so I'm not sure at this point. Maybe check the interface plug where the hopper assy engages the machine when secured, also check for a torn harness per the attached tech bulletin.Attached FilesComment

Hi all,
I have a ricoh C550ex with an error. It don't read toner cartridges of C550ex but read Mp C6000 toner cartridges. I buy used machine, so when I replace toner cartridge (for C550ex) the machine show toner cartridge setting error. The toner cartridges still works well because I put C550ex's toner hopper into another machine it still works. When I try put Mp C6000's toner hopper into my C550ex, amazing my machine read Mp C6000's toner hopper. What do I have to replace to fix this error.
