Aficio 3025 asking for username password

Customer called this morning and said the touchscreen is looking for a username/ password for all functions.
This was never set up to use username/ password and it was working fine without it on Friday.
What would have to have been changed to activate that for every function and why did it do it itself?

I'm pretty confident that the device didn't independently turn on User Codes, most likely someone was playing around in User Tools and fiddled with it. When you go out there, disable User Code Authentication and turn on Administration Management to prevent this from happening in the future.

Maybe they accidently switched on User Authentication. Switch if off in User Tools - System Settings Key Operator Tools.
The machine can not do this by itself.

This doesn't usually happen out of nothing - "someone" might have felt the need to mess around the user tools, enabling some authentification or something restrictive like this. You might be able to help the customer if they agree with a remote desktop session (get teamviewer, it's easy), then you can check all settings via web interface.

Thanks guys, they fessed up when I got there. They were trying to change some fax information and had no idea what they were doing.
