    MP2000/Savin 9021d install b866

I have a customer with a 9021d that would like to network this machine. After reading manual it appears that a b866 needs to be installed. I have not done this before i assume that firmware needs to be updated as well. How many hours should i plan for and is how much is this part?
Thanks for the info in advance.

B866 is just some product code - but I think you're talking about the printer/scanner unit you might need if your machine doesn't have it installed. The basic machine comes with either no connectivity or just a simple GDI print feature. The print/scan version of this machine has an extended control panel, see:

This pic shows the copier+gdi print version:

This brochure includes a pic of the print/scan able machine:

I think it's generally too expensive to add a printer/scanner version afterwards, especially if the machine might some years old. The options are quite expensive. Setting everything up might take 1-4 hours depending if you are a tech with ricoh experience or not. All in all the costs are quite high, except you might find a second hand printer/scanner unit. Firmware should always be up to date.

B866 is the DDST option. Print/Scan that Gift mentioned is B867. Glancing at the specs for both im not sure what the differnece is and have no personal exp with them.
Install time listed in the manual is 15 min. Same for both.
I dont have pricing info for either but as Gift said they tend to be prohibitavly expensive to add after the fact.

Edit>>Just noticed DDST only supports twain scanning.
