I have a finisher SR970 that jams in the entrance section of finisher. i'm looking to see if anyone has tech bulletins on finisher or has had this problem with this finisher with punch unit installed?

common causes I see on this finisher: bent entrance guides, punch jammed with chads or chads blocking the entrance sensor

What machine is it connected to?
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

      Hit it.

It depends on where the paper stops exactly, i have had issues where its stops just before exiting to the shift tray, which the problem on two different occasions was different, one was the shift motor stopped and i was able to wiggle the shift rollers front to back a few times and oil them and it was fine. the second occasion was someone moved the machine and pinched the wires that go to the door switch and the proof tray/entrance sensor, this caused the first paper to pass to the shift rollers but the second page stopped at the entrance because the sensor wires cause the sensor to not work. If paper is jamming with the lead edge in the punch unit then i would inspect the punch unit like mentioned above, the photosensor in the entrance also gets dirty a lot I have had machine jam just because of paper dust on the sensor there.

It also might help to run the smc report and make sure its a finisher jam thats going off. Other then what i have mentioned i havent really had many finisher problems.
