Are DF75 and DF83 interchangeable??

Dear friends,
The other day, i had a problem with my customer's Aficio 2032 document feeder ( DF75) which was throwing out spanner sign & intermittent paper size detection problem.

As they needed to use the machine quite urgently, i resorted to solving the problem by replacing it with another , taken from a Aficio3030 (DF83 ).

I was surprised that it works!. Does this mean that both this feeders ( DF75 & DF83 ) are interchangeable even though it is use on different models (Aficio 2032 & Aficio 3030 ) ?

Im not shure but if the part number of the logic board and connection-harness is identical it should be fine. If the parts numbers are different according to the parts guides (most likely) you should check if one of them or both have been changed.

I looked at the electrical and mechanical component layout and saw absolutely no difference in sensors and motors, both quantity of each and location. Maybe it's just a cosmetic difference (color of covers)?

Thanks for your quick response. The color of the DF83 is blue, whilst the color of the DF75 is green.
And by the way, the DF 75 is also working well on the Aficio 3030 which normally uses the DF83 type.


I guess it's just a cosmetic change that Ricoh does whenever they produces newer models. But i just wonder though why there was no mention or technical bulletin regarding both of this machine ( Aficio 2032 & Aficio 3030 ) feeders being interchangeable.

Yes the DF83 replaced the DF75 and is compatible with all machines that use the DF75!
