Did the machine display any codes? (SC340)

When you fitted the new dev unit (And developer??) did you use SP2801? did the machine display SC342? If no code, the TD (VT) reading was probably ok when fitted. Did you print an smc list (5990-2) to check the reading after the new unit was fitted?

Start by checking for 12v at one pin on the plug in front of the dev unit (where the TD sensor plugs in).

As a temp measure you can detone (If possible) with "sky shots" and turn on The "ID during job" SP2507 to force the I.D sensor to check and maintain the toner level (It sounds like the dev is too far gone to do this).

It's always nice to see if your advice solved the problem. Just a message to tell us what the outcome is.

First try SP5801-1 and after that SP2962 and see if there is any difference*

VT 0 means TD Sensor is not in work and therefore you have that amount of toner inside developer unit.
Normaly if TD sensor is not working (bad sensor, scratched wires, bad BCU) i would suggest you to change the amount of toner from Sensor Count to Pixel Count and maybe you have it in SP2208.That means TD sensor is out of work, because amount of toner is calculated from CPU every pixel generated.
But if the TD sensor dont work and copier do not shows SC340,sc341,s342 i think is a problem with your PCB-BCU.

*Just to remember, never vacuum a developer unit without touching(grounding) with your hand it.Electricity generated from air ,can demage the sensor.

As i said before the copier allready works perfectly and the TD sensor too!
I dont know what happened and now it's working!
