MP 4002 MP5002 MP C3002 MP MP C3502 MP C4502 MP C5502 installing copitrak unit

Has anybody out there tried to install a Copitrak Pro terminal to any of the new Ricoh series that end in 02? They have the new GW+ controllers. Although both Copitrak and Ricoh say it should work we are not having any luck with it. Customer previously had unit working on a canon machine and have now requested to have it connected to their new Ricoh MP 4002 instead. The Ricoh has the optional key counter interface type A board attached and the Copitrak is attached to the interface board with the same interface cable used on the canon (interface cable #240). The dip switches on the copitrak are set with 1, 3 and 7 ON (we also tried just 3 and 7 ON) and we tried setting SP mode 5113 to all the possible different combinations (1,2,3, 4,5, 11 & 12), rebooting after each setting change. After each setting change we went to user tools > system settings > administrator > external charge unit device to try and set the charge paramaters but each time the external charge unit device entry was greyed out and did not allow access. There is no other security or authentication set on the device. In each case the copy screen was still available to users to make copies with no restrictions without having to enter anything into the Copitrak unit. I'm beginning to think the new style GW+ controllers don't support the Copitrak at this time. Any ideas?

Have you enabled enhanced external charge unit management in SP modes? Don't know if it'll work but it's worth a shot. It's SP-5113.
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

    Hit it.

Thanks for the suggestion - I may give that a try although the 'enhanced' optional counter type settings are supposed to be for SDK options (in the form of SD cards) only.

Update - problem fixed! - The enhanced external charge unit management ended up being the problem. The tech had inadvertantly enabled SP 5113 -sub mode 02 (External counter option type) and set the value to 1 (expansion device 1). This SP 5113 sub mode 02 setting is for SDK applications only (Ricoh embedded SD card apps). He had then gone into user tools, system settings , administration and into enhanced external charge unit management. The Copitrak Pro terminal is NOT an SDK option so is not applicable for this mode. Solution was to turn off SP 5113 - sub mode 02 and turn ON SP5113 sub mode 01, selection 1 (Key Card - Japan only). After that go into User Tools > System Settings > Administration tab > and EXTERNAL CHARGE UNIT MANAGEMENT > and enable (highlight) the functions which you need the copitrak to control (copy, scan, etc.). Also make sure the Key Counter Management in adminstrator tab has all functions turned OFF so there is no conflict with the external charge unit seting. Make sure as well that the dipswicthes on the Copitrak terminal are set with 1 and 7 ON only. Once all is set the copy screen shows an 'insert card' prompt and once a code is entered ithe copitrak the prompt he MFP screen goes away and copies can be made.

That's another win for the Munkeh, moving him up to top spot with 4 games remaining. What a guy...
