Am posting this for general information (or you might have seen this already). I had a machine with this code and found the wires going to the polygon motor damaged. The wires have been squashed under a metal plate on the laser housing due to poor design. I am thinking this could cause a range of codes or power supply type errors. This machine has been a chinese error magnet for some time since install.

Re: MP 4000 sc220
Blade,
If you say squashed, do you mean the insulation was just flattened or was it severed, so that you could see the wires inside? Please post a photo if you can.
I know on some of the laser units they compress the wires between foam to assist in sealing the Polygon motor from dust and dirt, but the wires have to get to the motor somehow.
I have not had laser related issues with MP4000 yet - they more cause copy quality issues (running light and chewing through dev before it is due).Press the GREEN button!! -
