    Ricoh Aficio 2090

    Hello!
    After full PM,my copier started to shows SC101,SC990 and SC955.
    I know is a problem with HDD memory or firmware..(as explained in SM)
    I was thinking if i could format the hdd without changing it,to see how will go.
    If i put a new HDD,i have to install new software,or must be an empty one???
    Firware for AF2090 is the same with AF2105?

    Can somebody help me with these questions and the way of installation of new firmware?

      your sc 101 is related to your scanner lamp. The 990,955 could be related to not being able to do process control since it was just PM'ed. Recheck the drum area and charge n developer units. Formatting the hard drive will definatly change it. You will lose the address book and some other settings. Replacement should be done as a set where both are the same size. And yes the firmware is the same.

          For SC 101 check first the white plate, and mirror/lens assy. SC 101 can indicate multiple problems but start with the easy stuff.
          You were able to set up the machine after the PM or as soon as you power it up you got the codes?
          Try to fix first the 101 and after deal with the HDD. I suggest to disconnect HDD completely until you fix the 101. Machine will work in basic mode as copier without HDD so you'll be able to set it and test it.

              I changed lamp scanner and and small board related to,before three days,but is the same.
              When copying,copier shows some lines in paper and i know these black lines,are related to scanner(because they're are shown only in copying and are'nt one place or the same length,they're diferent,from paper to paper),but i am thinking if scanner board,must be replaced???(I'll try later)
              I formated HDD and since formating,i am now seeing SC990 or SC955,i think they're gone.
              Sometimes,it showed me SC355,but yesterday i changed ID Sensor and developer and now is ok,in that direction.
              It has 9 million copies.

                      hi,
                      the thin lines you are talking about while copying are generated if the wiring to the mfc is not properly earthed.Earth the shield properly your lines will disappear. As regards the firm ware for 2090 how will i get it i am located in bangalore india. pls help
