spc410dn auto callibration all the time

    Hi,

I am having a problem with a spc410dn. The machine is callibrating it self all the time. It does it when you switch it on if you get a paper jam and even when you open and close one of the doors. This is time wasting for the customer and uses toner while callibrating. Has anyone had this problem or knows how to fix it thanks.

Line positions are a fact of life with colour printers. As far as the machine is concerned, anytime a new variable is entered into the equation it wants to make sure that it is still in proper alignment. Ricoh machines seem to be a little more particular about this, but just let the customer know that this ensures proper colour alignment and quality.

I "fixed" this on various machines by adjusting the related SP values but not on this specific model. It's not recommendable for quality-demanding customers but it can be done if the machine offers some settings. A good start is to print out the SP lists and check these out first - usually it's more or less self-explaining. In case it'S not you might dig up the service manual and check the descriptions in the SP tables. USually these settings can be found unter "process" (or "drum"). Sorry - I can't tell it more specific since I simply don't recall.
