[Misc] MP5000 Low Batter signal? Lost Scan Destinations?

    Hi Guys
I have a MP5000 with Low Battery Signal on panel.
Yesterday got lost all the Scanning Destinations
Today trying to insert new destination won't memorize them.

What battery is it? I could only find NVRAM battery (but it's integrated)
    Should I swap NVRAM?

    Thanks for your help.

Funny to get this message on a machine that isn't really old - I can't recall having any memory backup battery issues with Ricoh. I always thought the adressbook is stored on the harddisk (if you install a new harddisk, the adress book is gone, too). Well, who knows how the controller spreads the data....

Most newer machines doesn't use a classig NVRam IC - it's more like some kind of little PCB in a black plastic housing that sits on the controller board via connector. There should be a lithium battery soldered on this type NV Ram (visible if you remove the PCB out of it's housing).

I gues you already checked/reseated the NV Ram? Does this machine have a fax option? I know that the fax MBU also uses a backup battery - who knows if that might confuse other things if it goes bad (the MBU likes to not sit properly on the fax-board connector).

The service manual mentions that there is a battery on the control board. Maybe that one is faulty. When the (internal) NVRAM battery is defective I would think you get a lot of SC-codes about all kinds of parts of the machine.

I am sorry, the problem was much easier than expected.
My customer called out support center indicating that the panel was showing that battery was low
We were astonished so we looked at a MP4000 we had at home.
We found a battery into controller so we thought about a battery error... Bad misunderstood

The customer was interpretating "toner bootle" signal as a "battery signal" .
Battery was fine, the problem was a bad HDD writing so was easy to solve by a HDD formatting.

        Thank for your help.

What is the relationship between the "toner Bottle" and the HDD?

I don't get the connection either - all toner values are stored in the NV-Ram next to the other SP values. It might have been a coincidence that the message disappeared during messing around with the machine.

Sorry I was misinterpreted. There is no relation between toner bottle and hdd. Need to improve my english and don't use s fu.....ng smartphone to post :-)

Scan destination failure was caused by a bad hdd writing.

Toner bottle signal was interpreted as a battery signal by the customer.

So only a 75 km trip to format hdd
