Of course this is Ricoh's line, not the truth. 300k from one of these PCUs? I'm not convinced!

I've had 4502 black PCU's hit 450k before needing a replacement. These new ones seem to run like tanks.
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

        Hit it.

Really? 450k already? They must be being battered, just like my lass on a night out with the girls.

Yeah, 4502 got installed in August last year and had 658k on it when it got pulled last month and replaced with a Venus 3.

August last year? We only got our first one through 3 weeks ago!

I didn't expext that kind of interval either. So far none of our machines with the new style BK drum unit has that many prints on the counter. I only needed to replace a BK drum unit because of an arc mark and I swapped it against an MPC2800 BK drum - you can install these without any problems/modifications IIRC, I just did it because I had this in my car stock and wanted to get the job done. But if the new units are really keeping or even exceeding their interval I'd probably consider to order these as well. I just doubt if these positive experience can be reproduced with low/average volume conditions or if the customer likes to print high coverage. Well see...

Maybe he confused it with the 3001/4501 since both using a BK drum with extended wax bar

Ah, apologies. It was a 4501 I was thinking of. Damn Ricoh and their only changing one number in a model antics.

The PM life is longer as they have a much bigger lubricant bar in them - stops you putting the black PCU in the colour position though as there is a big lump sticking out of the bottom

I didn't noticed that the usual fault-cause of the previous drum units generation was the wax bar or that this was used up. IF the wax bar is the only difference, I can't imagine a better performance. Therefore I'd expect a better reliability of the cleaning blades/brush/seals as well.

                        And nothings gonna stop me^^

                          Hi Gift,
can you explain me how you can replace your BK drum with an MPC2800 one?
I tried this morning but still doesn't work. With or without modification.
I only cut the rear connector so it can come into the hole but that doesn't work.

                          Thanks for your help
