Replacement of toner Recycle Unit will soon be necessary...
I am having a problem with this flashing on the screen...The waste toner tank has been emptied, and the second waste toner tank barely has anything in it. Can someone tell me what this is and how to fix it? Ricoh Pro 906EX
Re: Replacement of toner Recycle Unit will soon be necessary...
Didn't realize there was a reset.
However this the waste toner tank has been emptied before, but the message is different. Something like "Waste toner tank full" and will just quit making copies. That why I am not completely sure it is the waste toner tank('s)...

It does look like there is a toner recycling unit in this machine. You can turn on and off the different PM counters on this machine and most other Ricoh machines from PCU, Devo, Fuser, all kinds of parts. This is in the SP5xxx area. Think its PM parts display and shut it off in there. Don't have a machine in front of me so not sure exactly where but I know its on the other machines. The recycling units or classification assemblies are a PM item on machines like 8001 and 9001 so Im assuming it should be similar.

On the older versions - 2090s - there was an xmotor time listed on about the 3rd page of the PM counter that was for the waste bottle next to the feed units.

sp2973 set to 0 its the motor on the right hand side of the the machine where the pipes are. either replace it or reset it but remember its a high volume machine so its best replace it when its done its life.

SP2950. This was added in a version of Firmware and so is not mentioned in the Manual.
If the machine detects a lock up in the waste toner/ recycling toner system, then 8k copies later it will display this message. Clear Sp2950 back to 0 to clear.
Re: Replacement of toner Recycle Unit will soon be necessary...
Usually the B234 3652- Cap at the cleaning unit fall into the re-cyling unit which cause the re-cyle to clog and worst case the coil is already damege, so the main thing is to recover it by cleaning the unit (toner recyling unit) and perhaps replace the toner recyle coil... How? as mention above read the manuals for more detailed procedure.... but I usually first remove the PCU, Transfer and Dev Unit, at the back side ofcourse remove the covers, connector... remove the fly wheel... the black main gear... the adf connector, the fan, the main motor with timing belts, duplex drive motor, then its now visible the recyling unit... remove open clean and check and damage....dont forget to clean the sensor where the torque with the pulley attached later on with the gear at recyler unit.... after you done this re assemble it then proceed to SP 2950- TCB Lock... set to 0... usually its 8 that give the message..... its a long story and lots of screws.. anyhow Good Luck....
fix the customer first then fix the machine... its simple and makes life more easy.
