Hi,
Customer was complaining that they sometimes couldn't open certain pages in a scanned document. Usually it happened with larger docs (15 - 20 pages) but sometimes it would happen with 2 – 3 pages. The resulting pdf opens without problems, but on certain random pages acrobat reader would display an error message ‘Insufficient data for an image’. That page would then be displayed as a blank page. However, they do have an alternate pdf program which does open the file without problems. (Nitro PDF iirc).
The problem doesn’t occur always. I had to scan multiple 20+ page bundles to get the error and only when set to 600dpi. However according to the customer they had the problem also at 200dpi with 3 page docs. I tried different dpi settings, different compression methods (in the scanner sp mode) and tried a few different mail servers (they use their own mail server normally) I haven’t tried scan to folder, because they all use citrix to connect to a remote desktop, which I believe isn’t supported by the copier.
Apart from checking for firmware updates, I’m rather stumped. I did found this: FIX: "Insufficient data for an Image" error when you open a .pdf file that is exported from a SQL Server 2008 Reporting Services or SQL Server 2008 R2 Reporting Services environment and the fact that it does open in other programs makes me think it’s not related to the copier, but I can’t explain why this would happen? I checked TESSA but couldn't immediatly find anything.
Has anybody experienced this before?
