MP4500 - LD345 light band across copies and prints.

I have an LD345 leaving a light band across the whole page (prints and copies). It's about 2" wide. Prior to this it was worse (lighter all over) I changed dev material and now it is just the band. Cleaned laser glass.

Maybe you need to clean the laser optics as well (not just the shield glas) - if you try and interrupt a full-black copy: do you see the light band on the drum as well (to exclude the transfer unit as a possibility)

Did you clean the mag roller in the dev unit?

good hint - and check the mylars/seals of the mag roller cover, I've seen the lower mylar bended to the inside/toward the mag roller a couple of times, it's pretty obvious to discover once removed.

          Correct...
The mylar seal infront of the dev roller collects toner over time and can become hard. It is my belief that these hard lumps can drop into the dev tank and create developer voids or light bands on the copies. I usually vacuum the old toner out of the mylar seal at every PM.
