[Error Code] SC188 Aficio MP6001 constant P1 original jam message

Constant P1 area paper jam message and there is no paper inside of a document feeder. Replaced: main ADf harness, ADF controller board, Exit sensor, 600Dpi contact sensor (scanner inside of a document feeder which according to a bulletin causes this issue) - still the same issue. Firmware up-to-date, ADF board matches a firmware for it (new type of board). I took apart ADF up to the frame - checked everything - no luck. Forgot to mention - after you open ADF "to clear a jam" it triggers Sc188 but it is inconsistent. Sometimes it gives "Functional problem " error and machine needs reboot. Any suggestion on top of what I've done?

SC188 means that the CIS (Contact Image Sensor) is defective. You said you replaced it. Are all connectors OK. When you have Functional Problems and the machine reboots, it is often a bad connection somewhere.

Yes, first thing I replaced was a contact image sensor. Seems like all connections are fine. Will try to swamp ADFs next week see if it helps. Will keep in touch.

I had 2 that came "out of the box" with constant ADF jams. I had to replace the CIS AND the adf control board at the same time to get the erroro to clear. If you only do one at a time, the other will go out. Contacted Ricoh and let them know about this, and have heard and seen nothing about it.

I found a problem after few days of battle. It was a loose connection on a board behind rear cover. Check out ALL connectors and see if there are any loose.

It's worse man,had this issue with MP 9001 With SC187 & 188 and after replacing connector's,motor's,CIS,Sensors in DF no luck,even replaced main controller of the machine it was still the same,

At last i replaced two sensors in original feed and had a smile,

give it a try even it sound's odd.

you should also need to look in to other screen shot because sometimes paper pieces get stuck in front of this sensor and cause P1.
