My opinion...
If you search around this site, you will find hundreds of threads with problems due to refilled and/or compatible toner, but it's seldom ever mentioned in the initial post. People will list any number of problems like "add toner", SC codes, "toner not recognized", poor image quality, etc., etc. They will change circuitry, PCU's, transfer rollers, etc. and it often comes back to a non-OEM toner.
Yes, you may have some success initially, but the added problems you will inevitably incur, will far outway any initial savings.
I would personally only ever consider using a non-oem brand in a B&W machine, but it would have to be a real emergency even then.

DON"T DO IT !!!!!! The owner I work for went aftermarket when the sunami hit japan and the toner supply dried up. It took nearly 40 toner pump failures to convince him that it was toner. Now we're back to OEM and no more toner pump issues.
I call it penny wise, dollar stupid, especially on color.
Some B/W machines it works OK for customers that don't put high priority on quality.
Save money in the long run, stay with OEM.
It's one of those balancing acts really. I despise compatible toners, however I'm sure that if it was my business and I was looking at the bottom line then I'd think differently. The longevity of toner pumps and developers may be compromised and there may be issues with the chips on the cartridges, however the cost benefits will be significant if you use a lot of them.
