    Ricoh 2060 adf jams

    Hi guys,
I have being having an issue with an adf feed in problem on this machine on and off for a while now, the paper feeds up to the first set of rollers ( not always) and stops just as it reaches them, you can see that the paper is being feed by different amounts if watched carefully, its as if the feed belt is not gripping the paper enough.

I have changed the feed belt, shaft, pick up rollers and most one ways at the back that are responsible for the operation of the feed in shaft, any ideas??

(i will check if i have missed any one ways out but im sure they have all been fitted)

    Thanks.

    Re: Ricoh 2060 adf jams

Two things come to mind that I have experienced with random original jams are...

    • The front hinge point of the top access cover can crack from the user opening it too far/hard. This puts lower pressure against the feed belt causing problems.
    • I have an account that uses these boxes and mp6000's mostly for scanning and have observed the plastic frame that holds the adf pickup roller gets loose where it snaps onto the shaft. This causes the gear on the frame to not always engage the gear on the shaft. leading to feed slippage/timing issues.

If you check the jam counters, are the jams showing at the same sensor each time or does it vary?

Blow out and/or clean all the size/jam sensors especially the ones on the top cover.
Testing 1-2-3, testing, testing. Is this thing on?

check for crack on the torque limiter and the A859-2241 roller, replaced it and have a try.

Another vote for the torque limiter, generally I replace it by default with the belt and sep roller as a set.

Thanks for the replys so far, i will check the jam location, i have replaced torque limiter, feed shaft, belt, sep roller, i will look if there are any cracks anywhere around the hinges. it looks like the belt is slipping slightly as you can see the feed in positions vary and eventually the paper stops just shy of the first rollers, then shows jam.
