[Error Code] Fusing unit setting error on a MPC7501

    Hi All,

I have a MPC 7501 that is comming up with fusing unit setting error. The fuser has been refurbed and tested in another machine where it works fine. It is the original fuser as well.
All that has changed is the transfer unit, all pcu and fuser where refurbed and now this error has come up.

Has anyone had this experience or know what the issue could be here.

    Thanks for the help.

    Regards
    J

Initially I'd go for a (very) small piece of paper or the like in the connector on the machine.

Were you getting this problem before the refurb process?

      Hi,

I have checked for all paper and any wire damaged but there is nothing.
The machine was working just fine before the unit was removed.

      Cheers

It is seated correctly, with the thumb screw at the back and the cams at the front in position?

Sounds like the connector in the rear frame is not fully engaging the fuser connector. Not sure how easy it is to access the connector from the rear of the machine to observe them when they mate, but you might want to shim the fuser connector outwards with some washers (where it is screwed to the metal support) to make it more firmly engage and see if that works.

When you tested the fuser in another machine was it the exact same model? The 6501 and 7501 have their set jumpers reversed from each other.

            Hi Guys,

Very good idea about the connectors, I will have to make sure first if any of the connectors at the back are not seated differently, I am aware that the 6000 and 7501;s connectors are different, but the fusers can be used in both models.

Thanks for all the help and will let you know the outcome.

            Cheers

Yes, I was thinking it was possible during the refurb the connector for a 6501c was used, but if you tested it in the same model then that wouldn't be the issue.

Just got back from swapping the fuser, duplex etc to another device. All the parts worked fine in the other machine. This all comes down to boards I would say.
I have ordered a few to test and see which one is giving the issue. suspects could be power supply or Main board.

The fuser is working perfectly in another machine, so cannot be the fuser. Im presuming a board.
Thanks for the help, but any more idea's.
