    MPC6000 Jams

    Hi all,

Have a mpc6000 in the field with a sr5000 finisher which is giving regular jams in the finisher shift roller section.
I have replaced the motor but still get occasional jams in this location anyone have any ideas? or possible fixes would be much apperciated.

What is the jam code? Does the paper appear folded, or curled. Does it just stop.

The finisher shift roller section? Are the sponge rollers at the exit worn away to nothing?

First thing to do is to make sure that the firmware is up-to-date. If it still does it try to run "output check" and see if there are any abnormal things going on. Also you may try to lubricate a shaft on a shift roller. Good luck!

Make sure the exit roller motor harness isn't rubbing against another drive motor. I have had half of dozen of these where it's rubbing all the way through to the wire and shorting out. Cut and spice and then re-route the harness and it's good to go.

Did you change the SHIFT motor or the LIFT motor?
The fault can be caused by the shift tray LIFT motor, modified motor and mounting bracket.

Hi. I had this when a machine was cold and found the drive exit motor was struggling. Try feeding it out to the upper feed tray as it does not use the motor for the drive upto the shift tray as its diverted up. If that's no good change the finisher....I know it sounds drastic but customers will only put up with jamming machines so far.

                Hope that helps.
