The problem I am having with the copier is that after about 100 prints the copies are totally faded and the machine does "Loading Toner" on occasion without a new toner added. I have changed the Developing Unit , New Toner, inspected the Toner Pump and verified that the toner is turning in the machine. The problem cleared when I changed the developer or Developing unit but after about another 100 copies it starting printing faded again. I read on the forum that a possible solution is to update the firmware but I no longer have access to Ricoh firmware , our company switched to Duplicator sales only.

Re: mpc2020-3030 errore toner
The latest firmware is on the Ricoh Dealer service documentation file. If you can find someone that will give it to you that would be great but we kind of have a "you scratch my back, I'll scratch yours" policy here. What are you going to do for them? Nothing is free. I have not worked on this box but I would be looking at toner not getting to the developer. How many copies on this machine? Was it just recently PM'ed? Can you run the developer and toner motors with output tests? It's a Ricoh so I am sure you can. It started printing ok when you changed the developer cause the developer had the correct amount of toner in it. Obviously toner is not being fed or is not getting to the DV unit. Another possibility is the sensors for reading the density is bad or dirty. Did the developer adjustment go ok when you put in new developer?Testing 1-2-3, testing, testing. Is this thing on? -

Re: mpc2020-3030 errore toner
I'm willing to bet that it's an MPc2030, mostly because they're shit at loading toner.
Check the gearing on the toner motor on the back and strip and clean the supply unit on the front. If that fails, sacrifice a chicken, say 10 Hail Marys and run like buggery.Comment
