[Electrical] Difference between 7200 fuser and 3228

I have a couple of almost new 7200 fuser units but no 7200's to use them in. Is there a way to MacGyver them to work in the 32 series?

If I remember correctly, there's a fuse in the 7200 model that is not present in the 32 series fuser unit that works as a new unit trigger. In theory, you should be able to swap the connectors, but with the added variable of that fuse, I'm afraid you're going to have to compare the P2P for each to make sure that all of the connections identical.

Okay, I'll let you all know how it goes. I hope to get to it this afternoon.

its pretty easy, just turn the unit upside down, remove the black plastic cover and change the connector with the red wires against the one from the 3228 unit...voila

Maybe the 240 volt is a bit different. I dont have a red wire, but I do have an extra wire harness on the 7200 version.

The top one is the 32 series fuser.

You are right about this one, in your case, the wires are grey. I assume, that the unit with the worn out gear is the 3228 one, and the other the 7200.. you can see a grey/black one harness with a binder on it going to the connector left to the lamp power connector on the 3228 unit, this is the one, what i mean, take it out an place it into the 7200 unit, replacing the harness with the white connecor attached. BTW, the white conector leads to a fuse which is needed for the 7200 printer to recognize a new fuser.

Thanks for you help! You pointed me in the right direction.

              This is what I did.
1.Cut the fuse (the connector that the 32 DOES NOT have) connector off and loop the wires.
              2.Cut the original loop.

              Have a great weekend!
