    SC 0501

A customer called me to report they couldn't copy or print and this code was on the screen. I had them reboot and it started working.
Question is: I see there are 4 digit SC's in the fax section but none starting with 0. and I cant find any other 4 digit codes at all. This is an MP2852SPF.
    WTF?

4 digit SC is indeed a case of WTF..

I know 501 as a malfunction of the first drawer. Maybe the customer can send you a picture or you try guiding him to the SP mode -> SC code history, check if that tells something else. You could also ask if the machine displays a wrench in the display icon for the first drawer (to see if it's SC501 after all).

I'm willing to bet it was an SC501 too. I wonder if the customer just misquoted the number, possibly a case of Chinese photocopier whispers?

Gift, I am reluctant to guide a customer into the Dark Hole of SPs. I will wait until a tech goes out there and then they can bring back a SC report.
This is one of those high security places that it takes a half hour to get into so as long as its solved for now, I am content to wait it out.
I am inclined towards the 501 also. But as it is a "B" code that wont kill the machine just that tray. And they couldn't copy or print at all.
I will post more when I have more info.

I'm curious about the end of this story^^

If the system has a setup with only 2 trays (or other trays disabled for automatic paper selection) and the customer has not much knowledge about the user tools it's not uncommon if they say "we can't print/copy..." Guiding the customer through the SP is always something that has to be considered well of course.
