mp4500 jam 66

jam code 66= exit sensor off

i have only seen it jam when duplex. simplex is ok.
paper just seems to stop half way through the exit rollers while the exit rollers are turning. sometimes the first copy comes through fine.
i removed the bridge unit, swapped the interchange unit and duplex unit. all rollers cleaned.
fuser unit has been rebuilt with brand new parts.

the sticky pads inside the interchange unit have been removed although the solenoid wasnt sticking anyway.


paper jams half way out of the internal tray. sometimes it comes through fine but most of the time it stops halfway through the interchange unit

I have seen the exit switch in the interchange unit cause this.

My bad..exit sensor.. it's right on top of the interchange unit.

today i went back to change the exit sensor situated ontop of the interchange unit and it still jams. any idea?

This is the MP black and white machine we are talking about ?
Check under the small front cover located on the upper front panel in front of the interchange and clean the sensors located there.

There is also the main plug on the duplexer that can pop out from open and closing, this can also give a similar fault on the MP3500.

Disable tray one and do all your testing from tray 2. Let the forum know if the fault only happens from tray one.

Wondering the same thing, since I don't show a jam code 66 on MP4500

yes its a black and white machine. it jams code 66 only when duplexing from all trays. simplex is perfect. duplex unit and interchange units have been changed. sometimes duplexing works ok but most times it jams at the exact same place.

im also getting a jam 003 from tray one. all feed rollers, torque limiter and feed clutch has been changed. this is also intermittant.

this is the same type of model as a 3045. not the new mp4000 type
