    [Misc] fixing troubles

what causes insufficient fixing on a Ricoh 2045. this is usually 1st copy of day or faxes that come in when copier is in low power mode. copy can be wiped off paper. no fuser error codes.
    Thanks!!!

If it doesn't fix a toner to the paper then there is not enough temperature - check out your power supply for a fuser. If the fuser has more than a lifespan - replace it.

Set sp code 1103 to 1. This turns on fuser idling. The fuser motor turns on for 30 seconds before printing to evenly heat upper roller.
Why do they call it common sense?

If it were common, wouldn't everyone have it?

A really soft pressure roller can also lead to fusing (fixing) issues too.

There were actually quite a few firmware modifications for this issue related to fuser issues. Turning on idling would definitely be your first step, but also make sure that all of the firmware is up to date: with this older model though, after updating the firmware you will have to manually change some of the SP values.

Some aftermarket toners will cause this. I agree with with the previous posts on enabling fuser idling.

You might want to check if the fusing lamp is giving way. Take out the lamps and if you find black rings or warped sections, get it changed.
