    [Misc] AF2090 give SC966 - nightmare

    Hi,

    I have 2 AF2090 but have same problem. both give SC966 or SC990 codes. the problem start when I copy, the machine running non-stop but the are no paper copied, then give SC966. I changed ram, not help!. I try to disconnect HDD - same thing happen... change with new drum ... same... I don't know what to do now. Some one please help me. Maybe something wrong with firmware (I guess) but I don't know how to fix/install it.

      one more, when I log in into the service mode, there are only copy sp appeared. where the printer and others option goes?

          SC966 means that the Polygon Mirror Motor is not reaching the ready state in time. Replace the Polygon Mirror Motor. Could also be a faulty BICU-Board, but I would start with replacing the Polygon Mirror Motor.

                  Dear Eric,

                  Any other option? I don't have this part as you suggested. I think part number is AX06 0254, or it's same with AF551?

                      Partno. is indeed AX06 0254. Don't think you have any other option. If all connections to the laser unit are ok, then the only option is to replace te polygon mirror motor.

                          I have also seen the laser sync detection board cause this.

                                  Hi guys,

                                  I went to the customer today and cleaned almost every sensor at the machine. And... the sc966 code gone! like a magic. however, when I copy/print meter reading, there are blank paper only come out! any idea of the new problem? No sc code pop-up.

                                      Also could be a door switch issue, blank copies = no laser.
