    key sonic keyboard compatability

    Good morning,
I am currently working on a new install for a Ricoh mp8001 and i have installed a keyboard on a bracket with the usb/sdcard option. The machine has a message that {Incompatible usb device has been connected} also below says {Check usb device}. Keyboard model number is {ACK-3400U kEY SONIC}. If this is incorrect keyboard please tell me correct one off price list or model number please. Is there sp enable other than what is already in manual. Please advice me on correct installation if i am incorrect. Thankyou

Under scanner SP, Set SP 1013-001 to "1". BTW, keyboard for what? Never mind, I read the product support guide, for java aps. Didn't know that was an option.

Did this fix your problem? How about some follow up?

Actually I'm having the same problem on our new mp c6501. Same keyboard however. Took me awhile to figure out how to get into service more (clear modes, 107, stop/clear).

That setting (scanner SP 1013-001) was already set to "1" and still have the same problem. I'm talking to the local ricoh vendors who installed all this and it is like pulling teeth to get responses which is why I came here.

I've look numerous times in the admins tools on the scanner itself and settings in the web image monitor with no avail.

This is astounding quite strange to me... I've never heard of anyone using a keyboard with a large touchscreen device. We use the keyboard (same version) with the mp 171/201 device. We receive that error message upon installation of the keyboard. The resulting for us comes after we install Global Scan NX on the device followed by a keyboard batch installer. Basically, it's a script that calls upon the JAD file stuffed in the global Scan application. You might talk to Ricoh product support about the keyboard installer application. Let me know what is discovered.

I found that I had to also enable sp1110 under printer to get the message to disappear
              Hope this helps
