Hi everyone. On an MPC3000, what does the full and normal music adjust and when would it be needed? I have the service disc but I cant see much of an explaination on this. Thanks for any information.

Re: what does the music procedure do ?
MUSIC is an acronym for Mirror Unit for Skew and Interval Correction. It is the CPU that handles the color registration.sigpic

Re: what does the music procedure do ?
Hi there!
Never had to this on the MPC-series. Look that the id-sensor is clean, change transferband & cl-unit in time, then the machines running like hell.
Only on Aficio 3228-3245C we made a MUSIC-procedure after changing the modified bands without marking.

Re: what does the music procedure do ?
I read the 2232c manuel that rthonpm recommended and it helped. The mirror that is getting adjusted is the 3rd mirror in the the LD unit? I also watched the John Miles video that was recommended but not much help there : ) The reason I'm trying to under stand this is a year ago I was trying to refurbish a used mpc3000 with a color registration problem but gave up on it and got rid of the machine. We now have another one in our shop with the same problem. I'm trying to understand how to correct it and why it happens. I got a lot of help from here last time it happened but never could get it. Its hard to troubleshoot something without knowing exactly how it works and the manuels arn"t very good at explaining some functions. If a mirror in the LD unit was not correcting properly would that cause registration to be off and the music precdure to fail?Comment

Re: what does the music procedure do ?
Reg will also be off if the density of the developer is too weak or if the ID sensors cannot register and that may be caused by the upper left roller in the ITB unit as the sensors read off of that. Or the ITB may be scratched.sigpic
