    [Electrical] Lanier LD 160c

    Hello All,
I have a Lanier LD 160c that will not power on. The main power light glows green but nothing happens after that. The machine will not boot up at all-no sound, nothing! We've tested the machine for AC in and out which shows there is power in and out. Fuses look fine. We haven't found any voltage going to the high voltage board. Any suggestions?!?!

NVRAM, main power supply, IOB board. Check for shorts in the 24v lines (sensors etc.) especially in the fuser and Large capacity trays

Do the easy checks first. Try and power up with any accessories disconnected (finisher, adf, lct) and doors open. If no change, disconnect the HDD and try again. From there, I would then disconnect all output connectors on the PSU and plug them back in one at a time to try and find a load that may be shorting. Generally, the HDD, Polygon Mirror Motor and Fuser are known to be culprits but a pinched wire anywhere could cause this.

I've also seen several blown power supplies here recently. That's hard to test, because with all the connections undone they usually only output a single 5V supply, waiting for a signal from the IOB to switch on the rest of the voltages. Best luck is to disconnect everything but the IOB (or wherever the signal comes from on whatever model you're working on) and then disconnect everything else from the IOB and see if it fires up. If it's still dead bet on the power supply, but it still could be an IOB at that point - or idiot engineering needing the BCU and / or controller hooked up as well.
