    MP2550 paper jam cass 3 !

Paper jams on cass 3 !
Everytime a job is printed or copied from drawer 3 paper is jammed.
It comes out of the drawer and then it stops.
The indication on the SMC report says on every jam: Trans 1 Sn:late

Checked the pickup clutch, cleaned the sensors and cleaned the transport rollers.
Also checkes the lift unit, seems ok.
    All this without results.
Strange, because paper feed from drawer 4 is working fine.

    Someone, thanks in advance

Maybe someone programmed a fixed paper size for tray 3 in User Tools - System Settings - Paper Settings. For example, if it's programmed to feed long edge and the paper in the tray is placed short edge the paper will jam. Could also be a faulty clutch, roller, friction pad like Jomama says.

Place the paper tray "back fence" hard up against the paper stack in the tray. As the tray lifts up the stack tilts back and there is no feed off the top of the stack.

Check the tray lift motor limit sensor at the back of the machine is making it's true limit switch position. Physically bend the metal arm out toward yourself so the plastic mylar tab on the limit arm actuates the photo-interrupter. Don't forget to allow for the position as the tray is inserted.

Only misfeeding issues I've had were because of this, but there's usually no feed at all

besides that the only other jam cause I have had is because of the lift spring, we either add the secondary spring that is shorter that attaches to the longer spring, or I put a zip tie on the spring taking about 1.5 inches and zip it together so there is more pull, that tends to solve it. However i get a non feed from that tray in the reports, not saying this is your problem your jam log is reading a different tray for the actual jam.
