2022 Can receive but cannot transmit fax

OK so customer is receiving faxes with no problem, but cannot send to any number.
Even tried just dialing my cell phone with the fax and nothing.
So I would have to think the line and dial tone are good since it picks up and receives fine, yes?
Bad fax board or something simple I am not seeing?

is there dial tone when you tried to call your cell?
check to see that the fax is set to tone and not dial pulse.
by chance do they need to dial 9 before they are able to dial out?
try plugging a standard phone in to the wall jack and try dialing out.

Press on-hook dial. Do you hear a tone? Try dialing a known fax number, or a nearby phone.
I am finding many newer VOIP systems with an analog fax line do not have a normal dial tone. If the copier does not detect the tone, it will not dial. This can be changed by dip sw.

No dial tone with on hook dial.
Tried a standard phone on the line and it works fine.
I just find it strange that it still receives fine with no dial tone.
Time to order a new fax unit.

Yes

Cable must have only two wires.
If your cable has more you will have a trouble with fax option.

You said the you tried with a regular phone and it works fine. Was that for both calling and receiving? I have had accounts where they could fax out and not receive and they had their wires messed up and the receiving line went to another phone. The customer didn't believe me until I plugged a phone in and called the fax number and someone in another office answered.

Go into Fax SP mode
Try Ram Clear First
If that doesnt do it
Ram All Clear and Reset Bit switch...
Its worked for me worth a try...
