I know this one is SSL but have not found the setting. The ISP is a University and no POP 3 is available....
Never set one up like this...
I assume you are just setting it up to send email, so you are using SMTP. IMAP and POP are for the machine to recieve email. You dont want to go there.
Is the customer wanting to recieve emails on the copier? For what purpose? This only works sending documents from one Ricoh to another Ricoh like a fax. Is that what they are trying to accomplish?
IMAP is a reception protocol, SMTP is a universal sending protocol so it doesn't matter if the reception standard is POP or IMAP. The same server may be doing the same job so the server name should be the same.
Although POP and IMAP are protocols used for receiving emails thay can also be use to enhance SMTP authentication.
In User Tools > System Settings > File Transfer it is possible to enable POP before SMTP. By default this is off , if you set POP before SMTP to On, you can set the waiting time after authentication, user name, e-mail address and pssword.
Also, If you enable POP before SMTP you will need to enter server name and port configuration in POP3/IMAP4 Settings.
