MPC 6501 not reading Toner amount correctly...

Customer is getting upset because even after checking the toner level in the bag and it being about 20-40% full, the copier is saying that it is 100% full. They can get a toner bag from another MPC6501 that is almost empty, put it into another MPC6501 and it reads 100% full. I realize they have chips in them to let the copier know that its a new bag but what im not understanding is, if the bage is almost empty and the screen says it has 20-40% left, you take that bag out, put it right back in and then the screen says its at 100%. is there anything i can change in SP to give the customer a more accurate reading? And why does it say that there is 100% remaining when there is clearly only a little in the bag?

    Thank you for your time...
But I cleaned the scan glass.......

Just guessing here without actually reading the manual...but id assume the machine does a count as it gets used from when the bag is first fitted. I mean the bag is 100% full when new, so the machine knows this then adjusts the toner levels on the screen as it gets used, it dosnt actually measure whats in the bag. Every time you fit a partially used bag in the machine it assumes its full so displays full.....how will it know if its partially full?

These sorta problems annoy me, its like a nothing problem but the clients make a big deal out of it...give the customer an extra set of toner for when it runs out if they are worried its gonna stop as the levels must be screwed up now. When they put in the new bag tell them not to take it out till it runs out. But im probably completely wrong with my theory!

    Chur bro.

      Just a guess,

This machine uses Pixel Count, ID-Sensor and TD-Sensor to control the toner supply. Toner Near-End is detected by the Toner-End Sensor. Could be that this Toner-End Sensor is always detecting toner so it won't detect a Near-End or End-condition. Maybe that's the reason that it stays at 100%. Again, I'm just guessing.
