    4001 finisher doesn't work

We just bought an almost-new MP4001 and the main part of the copier works fine, but the finisher won't collate or staple.

When I tell it to collate, it scans the originals and then tells me that there's a problem with the stapler and gives me SC750 (even though I didn't ask it to staple), and it also tells me that there's a problem with the finisher shift tray. The red and green lights on the start button flash, but won't do anything else until I stop the printing.

When I tell it to staple it immediately gives me an SC 750 error message in a window, and it won't do anything more until I cancel that. The stapler looks fine, with no jammed staples or anything.

I have several years of FE experience on other Ricoh machines, but I've never seen this model before.

    Any suggestions?

The SC750: "The upper tray paper height sensor does not change its status with the specified time after
    the tray raises or lowers."

I am not shure, but you can try to release the tray from the lift motor and adjust it. Its possible that the home position is not correct (wrong transport).
You can even check all sensors (not in the right position)
