Usually this code is related to a laser unit issues. For example (and it could apply to 1035 model) that SC code is called "Synchronization error" in Aficio 3035/3045 model.
Cause: The synchronization signal was not issued within 500 ms after the LD fired while the polygon motor was turning at the prescribed number of revolutions.
Resolution:
• Laser synchronization board connectors loose, disconnected, or damaged
• Laser synchronization board defective
• LD drive board defective
Try use SP2109-003 - Laser sync 400dpi then do SP2109-004 Laser sync 600dpi. Its a common issue with these old models.

No, you can not. They are totally different machines. You can use a laser unit from Aficio 1045 on Aficio 1035 and vice verse. That is it.

No, you cannot swap the laser between any of the models (1035/1045/2035/2045). But the part number is correct for the unit. Also, as Neergish stated, check the front door interlocks as the contacts can become corroded and laser 5v safety voltage from passing.
[Symptom]
SC 322 error is displayed randomly or permanently. Cover Open indications and image distortion may also occur.
[Cause]
Interlock switches for the front or side cover may have become dirty internally causing open or high resistance circuits.
[Action]
Replace the switches as a set [1204 2521] (Item 108) and [1204 2529] (Item 109).Comment

Hi you all!
To those of us that are still running these old beasts (actually good machines) especially the 2035/2045 3035/3045 in connection with sc322 I've found beside the usual fixes that everyone knows and last ditch effort is to change the laser unit, hold up try this first. Remove the LD unit get yourself a nice slim paint brush that can fit in the hole were it emits the laser (on the LD unit just in case you getting confused
), refit then run sp mode sp2109-8 then 2109-3 then 2109-4 and you good to go. Spent a bit of cash replacing laser units till I decided to get to the bottom of this problem never replaced another unit since then and oh just make sure you keep it running clean as much as possible replace your seal if it's worn out on the dev unit to lessen toner spill between the drum unit and dev tank. When toner gets into the LD unit that is when you get the laser unit errors and remember to clean out the laser unit including laser sync board.
