Re: Ricoh MPC2050 SC400
After some more ocasional testing on some SC400 situations, I found out that if you put this SP to 1 the problem is solved, at least temporarily, without cleaning. This comes handy if you've got a customer far away with a halted machine and you need time to get to it - just do this over the phone.
I've done this twice and it worked. It would be nice to have some confirmation from other techs.' "But the salesman said . . ." The salesman's an asshole!'

Re: Ricoh MPC2050 SC400
Just to add that I had several cases where the customer was far away and this SP always kept the machine working until the tech had the opportunity to go there and clean up the sensors - some of the times several days after the code came up.' Re: Ricoh MPC2050 SC400
Hi there!
When i clean the sensors, i allways remove the metalbar with the three holes (only 2 screws) & clean it with a damp cloth. Until now it work's for month's. My fellow coleague & me noticee that this problem occurs often in wintertime. Heating the rooms & dry air.

Re: Ricoh MPC2050 SC400
Only machines in really dusty environments give us SC400's. I personally think its poor design with the ID sensors facing up begging for dust and toner. Pulling the ITB unit is the sure fire way to get everything clean around and on the sensors. Pulling the black plastic cover and cleaning the sensors without taking out the belt doesn't last long in our situations. There is a metal support right above the sensors on the ITB unit that collects toner and needs to be cleaned. I agree with previous posts that Brillianize works well. Depending on the environment we get 6 months to a year before they need cleaning again.

Re: Ricoh MPC2050 SC400
Thank you for the advice,
I've tried like the video and it worked. If the SC400 comes back I'll try your tip.Comment

Re: Ricoh MPC2050 SC400
I find it easier, less risky and more efective to take out the transfer belt and clean both the sensors and the plate.' "But the salesman said . . ." The salesman's an asshole!'
